On this day, 3 years ago, Big Cam Bairstow — aka Cam ‘Airstow’, aka Aussie Charles Barkley — tied back his flowing flaxen locks and played the final game of his rookie year next to Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler on the Chicago Bulls and led them to an almighty beatdown of the Brooklyn Nets! And old mate NBA Straya was there!
Sadly, however, Airstow didn’t get a chance to soar like the Wedge-tailed eagle crossed with Michael Jordan we all know he is and dunk on everyone on the Nets, because Tom Thibodeau only gave the New Mexico Lobos legend 1 minute and 43 seconds to make sure the Bulls sealed the win.
BUT! Airstow did just that as the Bulls won by 27… Unfortunately though, the Big Banana Bender finished with a trillion: 1 min played, 0 points, 0 rebounds, 0/0 FGs, 0/0 3PTs, 0/0 FTs, 0 assists, 0 steals, 0 blocks, 0 fouls, 0 turnovers.
Ah well. Being there in person meant we got to make sure Big Cam ‘Airstow’s hair was as glorious as imagined though. And it didn’t disappoint. Big fella’s like a 6-10 bloody Bec Hewitt!
#ONYA Cam ‘Airstow’!
