#NBA #Straya Never Forget! Playoff Edition

3 years ago today, back when he was leading the Golden State Warriors to an NBA title and not setting Melbourne’s political agenda on twitter, big Andrew Bogut — the Australian Wilt Chamberlain — had himself a game for the ages in a CAREER HIGH performance! Oddly enough, it was during a precursor to this year’s Western Conference Finals, as big Bogey led his Warriors to a 1-point win over their current foes, the Houston Rockets!

That’s right, the Pride of Endeavour Hills was going up against that wet fart made human — Dwight Howard — and tanned his hide harder than Big Bogey’s Bombers over that blonde-tipped flog Shane Woewodin and the Dees back in the 2000 granny!

See, while that nerdy little kindy-kid Steph Curry was swanning around like bloody Warwick Capper, the Towering Terror of Bogut was standing astride Oracle Arena like some sort of mythical behemoth of yore and doing more dirty work than a Upper Beaconsfield plumber thigh deep in a busted septic tank!

Bogut, you see, was busy at the rim denying fools like a bouncer at Revs on a Saturday night spotting a bucks party… on his way to FIVE BLOCKS, making for his PLAYOFF CAREER HIGH! It was like Bogey was playing against the Narre Warren mixed U-12s netball team!

BUT! Not to be stopped there, the man currently scouring Sydney real estate for rentals with extremely high door frames, also put on a clinic that made him look like a 7-foot Jason Kidd.

Yep, big Bogey treated Dwight Howard like Big Bad Bustling Barry Hall treated Brent Staker’s bonce, delivering 14 points — on 7-of-9 shooting — to go with 8 rebounds so expertly grabbed that they should be taught in schools from Bundaberg to Broome… AND the Crafty Croat added 4 assists smoother than Phil Smyth’s bald noggin’!

Sure, the Big Tweeter also had 4 turnovers and 4 fouls called against him, but stats are for nerds, and anyway that was just the usual Anti-Strayan Bias you’d expect from the mongrel refs.

Regardless, in a crucial WCF game, Bogey’s 14 points, 8 rebounds, 5 blocks and 4 assists made for a dominating Aussie performance on par with Brocky fanging around Mt Panorama, Punter vs the Poms in ’06, or the Thorpedo going toe-to-toe with that Dutch spud Pieter van den Hoogenband in the 200m in Athens back in ’04.

And of course, the new Sydney King would lead Steph, Klay, Dray and co. to 2015 title! Not a bad bloody effort mate!

#ONYA Big Andy Bogut!
