#NBA #Straya Never Forget!

Eight years ago today, in a true celebration of Aussie spirit on ‘Straya Day back in 2010, Andrew Bogut — aka the Croatian Wilt Chamberlain — had a skinful of Aussie pride. In between listening to the Hottest 100 to see if Birds of Tokyo would come in No.1, Bogey shredded like Bernard Tomic behind the wheel of a VS V8 HSV GTSR laying patchies on the Goldie, and had a CAREER HIGH for the Milwaukee Bucks.

It’s almost too bloody perfect: Bogey — the result of crossing a ballet dancer with Godzilla — dominated more than Shane Warne against the Poms in ‘93, and scored a CAREER BEST 32 points!! On bloody Australia Day! Can you believe that!

The Pride of Endeavour Hills did better work Vince Colosimo in ‘Chopper’, as, to go with those 32 points, Big Bogey said ‘no cash here’ and added a man-sized NINE boards ripped down from the heavens like Zeus himself standing atop Mount Olympus… while the single block he had erased some poor soul’s ill-advised attempt so hard that the poor bugger was sent back in time and never took the shot.

To top it all off, he nearly went bloody PERFECT from the floor, shooting 13-of-14 (plus 6-of-8 from the charity stripe). Such a bloody shame that absolute mongrel Amar’e Stoudemire would undercut him a few months later and render his right arm more useless than a synth player in Acca Dacca.

Still, this was a true Australia Day miracle, and probably the most impressive Aussie showing since the time my mate Tall Kane got maggoted off a goonbag of Sunnyvale Fruity Lexia and walked across a bonfire barefoot.

You absolute bloody ripper! Ladies and gentlemen, this ‘Straya Day, raise your tins to the ‘Strayan Wilt, Andrew Bloody Bogut!
